The Oscars are staying in March for their 95th.
Today the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences announced that the 95th Annual Academy Awards will take place on Sunday March 12, 2023, which keeps the event in March for the second year in a row after the most recent show was on March 27th. The telecast will air live on ABC from the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood. Nominations will be announced on January 24th.
Eligibility returns to a 12 month calendar year after two pandemic-affected years of respectively 14 months for 2020-21, and 10 months for last year where eligibility ran March to December. For several years the show has aired in February, the last being for the 92nd Oscars February 7, 2020 just before lockdown. The 93rd Oscars aired April 25, 2021.
