EXCLUSIVE: Rita Moreno is heading again to school in The Prank, a dismal comedy from director Maureen Bharoocha making its debut at SXSW on March 13. Cut-off date has your first take a look at the movie within the teaser above.
In a task not like the rest the EGOT winner has performed during her long profession, she stars as the strict, imply, and vicious physics instructor, Mrs. Wheeler. She has been instructing at the highschool for many years and has a name for being the toughest, coldest, strictest school member.
Mrs. Wheeler crosses paths with the movie’s protagonist, Ben (Connor Kalopsis), a regular overachiever who’s an arranged, cautious, goal-oriented, and very devoted scholar who he finally ends up assigned to her magnificence.
When Mrs. Wheeler discovers any person in her magnificence is dishonest, she threatens to fail Ben and his classmates except the cheater unearths themselves.
But if no person does, Ben and his very best buddy Tanner (Ramona Younger) hatch a plan to spoil her lifestyles and body her for homicide on social media.
Rounding up the solid are Keith David, Kate Flannery, Meredith Salenger, Jonathan Kimmel, Nathan Janak, Betsy Sodaro, and Romel De Silva.
The Prank used to be penned by way of Rebecca Flinn-White and Zak White. Michael Y. Chow and Glenn Rigberg govt produce and Steven J. Wolfe served as manufacturer.
SXSW kicks off its in-person version Friday and runs via March 20.
